National squad for World Cup qualifying group 6 matches named

Kathmandu, April 2: The national football squad is under intensive football training for the forthcoming World Cup qualifying round group-6 matches to be held from April 12 in Kazhakstan and Iraq.

The two coaches, Maheshwor Mulmi and Dhruba K.C. is training the national squad that comrpises of 23 players.

The National Sports Council (NSC) appointed National Football Selection Committee formed under the coordination of NSC member Dawa Gurung selected 23 players out of 35 chosen in the first phase of the selection.

The team selected for the qualifying rounds is:

Goalkeepers: Upendra Man Singh, Sanjeev Joshi and Ramesh Lama.

Defenders: Rakesh Shrestha, Anil Subba, Sunil Tuladhar, Narottam Gautam, Anil Adhikari, narayan Manandhar, Dev Narayan Chaudhary.

Midfielders: Prakash Ranamagar, Ramesh Gyawali, Ananta Thapa, Bal Gopal Maharjan, Kumar Thapa, Sukra Tamang, Deepak Lama.

Forwards: Hari Khadka, Basant Thapa, Rajan Rayamajhi, Nirajan Rayamajhi, Dilli Ram Shrestha and Ramesh Budathoki.
