The meeting urged the government further to take up peaceful measures to solve the present adverse situation, Acharya added.

Likewise, the CWC condemned the Maoists’ acts of terrorism that have caused the damages and pains to people and various organisations, he said.

Acharya said that at the meeting, the government had presented two reports respectively from Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ram Chandra Poudel and Defence Minister Mahesh Acharya.

Three other members - Bal Bahadur Rai, Bimalendra Nidhi and Narahari Acharya - had spoken at the meeting. Meanwhile, the Spokesman said no one raised the issue of the resignation of Prime Minister during the meeting.

Poudel’s reports contains description of Maoists activities and the measures to implement security to curb terrorism and violence while that of the Defence Minister dwelt on the internal security process, Acharya said.

However he declined to say about the detailed of the reports saying that the reports are being still discussed.

Referring to Armed Police Ordinance which could not be passed from the Parliament because of the Opposition led deadlock, the NC spokesman said that the process to activate the Ordinance has got underway.
