"Dry port may bring betterment in transport Birgunj, Apr. 21 (RSS): Minister for Science and Technology Surendra Prasad Chaudhary inaugurated a national gathering of the Federation of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs held here today under the sponsorship of the Narayani Zonal Transport Entrepreneurs Association. Stating that His Majestys Government wants to develop the transport sector which can play a significant role in the overall development of the country, Mr Chaudhary expressed confidence that once the dry port is brought into operation, the countrys transport system will make further headway. Everyone should be equally concerned about resolving the problems facing the country, he said adding that elements which are perpetrating killings and violence in the name of the Maoist movement are in fact helping foreign regressive elements. There should be no hesitation in finishing off such elements which are against the constitutional monarchy and democracy, he said. Regional administrator Ananta Raj Pandey remarked that everyone should think how the country can be developed. DDC chairman Janardan Singh Chhetri, CDO Dolakh Bahadur Gurung, central vice president of the Federation of Nepalese journalists Ishwor Chandra Gautam and vice president of the Federation of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs Krishna Prasad Neupane also spoke at the function chaired by central president of the federation Sharad Uprety. |
