Chawala claims Shangri-la Golf Championship title

Kathmandu, April 28: Pavan Chawala claimed the first Shangri-La Hotel and Resort Open Golf Championship men’s title at the Gokarna Golf Course today.

The championship played at 3/ 4 stable ford basis, Chawala scored a total score of 40 to claime men’s first prize leaving behind runner-up D. B Gurung who scored a total of 39. Chawala will receive a two way tickets from Kathmandu –Vienna-Kathmandu while Gurung received the ticket to Banglore. Meanwhile, Prem Sachdev emerged winner in the senior men’s category scoring 32.

In lady’s categories, Joan Sobieniak claimed the best lady golfer’s title. Michael Olson won juniors title. Sobieniak has thus received a family micro oven as prize while Olson grabbed a Sony Music system.

Jamling Ghale won Most Birdies pize. Jamling hit three birdies with countback to win the prize. Phitso Ongdi won the prize for Closest to the Pin. Meanwhile Vice President of All Nepal Football Association Tashi Ghale won the Longest Drive prize.

The Shangri- La Hotel organised the tournament aiming to promote their clientele base along with their newly added Top Floor.
