Former Nepal chess champion loses

Kathmandu, Aug. 24: In the matches played today under the Rambir Memorial Open Chess Tournament former champion Navin Tandukar lost to young player Dinesh Shrestha due to a blunder. However the present champion Badri Lal Nepali won today too.

Meanwhile, the computer beat Radha Krishna Maharjan in 26 moves. Other winners today were Rajendra P. Shrestha, Janardan Shrestha, Balram Napit, Dharma Lama, Bhagwati Prasad Sharma, Rajman Maharjan, Ramesh Shrestha, Niraj Shrestha, Suresh Bajra-charya, Bikash Dongol, Arjun Maharjan, L.K. Shrestha, Kedar Nath Cahpkuli, Ganesh Duwal, Umesh Budhacharya, Hira Kaji Maharjan, Dhanbir Rai, Madhav Sharma, Digesh Malla, Krishna Ranabhat and Purna Krishna Dongol.
