After living under the threat of terror for a long time, we finally have been able to heave a sigh of relief, thanks to the state of emergency. In the name of peoples war, the underground Maoists were carrying out their violent activities, coercing and intimidating the common people. The six-year long cycle of violence has adversely affected the development efforts of the country that is one of the least developed nations in the world. Peace is the prerequisite for development anywhere. So this time, we can expect changes for better. But the concerned individuals and organisations need to be honest while performing their respective responsibilities. They should make it sure that their anti-terrorist acts do not affect the normalcy of common life. Devi Raman Pandey |
