Maoists kill ex-VDC chief, loot property Gaur, Dec 4 (RSS): A group of armed Maoist terrorists have killed former chairman of Pipararajwada VDC and CPN-UML activist Ramdev Raya Yadav last night. According to eyewitnesses, Yadav was killed by the terrorists while he was watching television at his home at a round 9:00 p.m. last night. The terrorists had dragged Yadav out of his house and hit him with a sharp weapon on the head. They also looted cash and jewelry, torched his motorcycle and vandalised his house. After receiving report of the incident, the police launched a massive hunt for the culprits, searched houses and arrested suspicious persons, according superintendent of police Birendra Babu Shrestha of the district police office. This is the first incident of Maoist killing a peoples representative in the district. The body of the late Yadav was taken a round Gaur bazaar and later to the CPN-UML district office where tributes were paid to him. The CPN-UML district committee has, in a statement, condemned the cowardly and henious act of the Maoist terrorists. Traffic and pedestrian movement was restricted in different parts of the district after 6:00 p.m. yesterday and today for security reasons. Meanwhile, MP Dr. Banshidhar Mishra, who was elected from Rautahat constituency 3, has expressed shock over the murder of Yadav and condemned the crime. Other Stories |
