Khadka alerts corpn chiefs for improvement BY A STAFF REPORTER Kathmandu, Dec. 12: Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supplies Purna Bahadur Khadka has directed the chairmen and general managers of the corporations under the Ministry to improve the weaknesses and deficiencies of the PEs within three months. "If not the management should bear the responsibilities of their failure," Minister Khadka alerted the executives. A two-day workshop of the chairmen and general managers of the public enterprises under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies discussed about the various aspects of the Corporations. The meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday chaired by Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Purna Bahadur Khadka, discussed point-wise about the conditions, activities, production, distribution, management, economic discipline, irregularities and the problems faced by those corporations. At the meeting, Minister Khadka instructed all those of the management level to increase their professional ability to meet the objectives of the corporations. He pointed out that majority of the Corporations are suffering from extreme condition of economic indiscipline, uncontrolled amount of irregularities, absence of auditing. Prakash Bahadur Gurung, Minister of State for Industry, Commerce and Supply said the people are expecting the services and facilities from the government and the PEs, so it has become imperative for the public enterprises to provide their services efficiently. The meeting was also attended by Secretary at the Ministry Bhanu Prasad Acharya and heads of the various departments and directorates of the Ministry. Other Stories |
