True Meaning Of Education

When we go to universities and colleges, we always have an intention of becoming doctors and engineers. This tendency shows that we want social and economic security in life, a comfort corner where there is no conflict. We want good time in future. But why are we all so interested in becoming doctors and engineers? Perhaps because we don’t dare to against the social conventional; we can’t resist our environment. This fear blocks our intelligence and understanding of life and makes us dull. Unless we change this attitude, we can never be creative. There is no significance of life until and unless we seek creativity in what we do. If we think that getting educated means merely becoming doctors or engineers and holding a good job, then our life will be shallow and empty. In that case, we won’t be able to contribute anything for the betterment of the world. Life has greater significance than that. It is colourful with feeling and emotions that are beautiful as well as truthful. But it is sad to say that our education system makes us no better than jobholders. Education is not merely a matter of training our mind, but it is to discover something new and to inquire the whole significance of living. Education is not for merely obtaining knowledge, but also utilising the knowledge wisely and lead the world to light.
