‘Pay attention to physical development’ Lalitpur, Dec. 23 (RSS): CPN (UML) General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal has said it is necessary to pay as much attention to the physical development as to the mental and moral development. Mr Nepal was inaugurating a Kathmandu valleywide Inter-VDC level Pushpa Lal Memorial Football Tournament organised by the National Youths Federation Nepal Central Sports Department at Jawalakhel Saturday. The tournament will continue till Jan. 5, 2002. Pointing out the need of raising youths’ interests in sports for their mental as well as physical development, the UML leader observed that if we keep our bodies fit and healthy, we can have good minds. Various other speakers including MPs Gokarna Bista and Raghuji Pant and central president of the All Nepal Football Association (Kupondole) Ganesh Thapa also spoke at the function chaired by chairman of Central Sports Department of the federation Birendra Bikram Lakhe. Forty-two VDCs are taking part in the tournament. |
