Efficient foodstuff supply stressed BY A STAFF REPORTER Kathmandu, Feb. 3: Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC), yesterday apprised participants of the regional workshop Promoting Regional Trade Among AFMA (Association of Food and Agricultural Marketing Agencies in Asia and the Pacific) Members of the foodstuff supply situation in Nepal at a luncheon hosted in their honour. Representatives from Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sir Lanka and Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and Republic of Korea and other participants taking part in the three-day workshop that concluded today. Shrestha also stressed on the need to forge cooperation at the regional level for supplying foodstuff in an efficient manner. On the occasion, M. R. Satyal, Executive Director of AFMA, said that the sharing of experiences and foreign cooperation among the countries of the region in supplying foodstuff and marketing the agro-based products could be beneficial for all. General Manager of Nepal Food Corporation Bhawani Raj Pandey, was of the opinion that the workshop would be helpful in supplying the foodstuff in the landlocked country like Nepal. Pandey also extended thinks to NCC for taking interest in the supply of foodstuff. Other Stories |
