Late Kansakar's last rites performed

Kathmandu, Feb. 6 (RSS): The last rites of renowned social worker and founder of the Paropakar Institution Daya Bir Singh Kansakar were performed at local Shova Bhagawati today.

His eldest son Hitkar Bir Singh Kansakar lit the funeral pyre in accordance with Buddhist tradition.

Earlier, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, Deputy Prime Minister Ram Chandra Poudel, Ministers, CPN-UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal, ex-prime ministers Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and Sher Bahadur Deuba, FNCCI members, social workers, school students and the general public paid their last respects to the late Kansakar at Paropakar Higher Secondary School, Bhimsensthan.

The body of the late Kansakar, which was kept at the school premises for the paying of last respects, was taken in a funeral procession past Bhimsensthan, New Road, Indrachowk, Machchindra Bahal, Keltole, Bhedasingh, Kilagal, Nardevi and Chettrapati to the cremation site at Shova Bagawati.
