'Economist policy not serving interests of poor, labourers' Birgunj, Feb. 25 (RSS): Central president of the Nepal Trade Union Congress and member of the labour Organisation Laxman Basnet while speaking at an interaction programme organized by the Nepal Press Union Parsa Branch recently said the present economic polices have made some people richer adding that as the economic policy does not seem successful in the interest of the poor and the labourers, it should be drastically changed. Basnet also said the concept of a single union was proposed by the Nepal Trade Union Congress so as to give a boost to the voice of the labourers. He said we should take benefit from the globalisation and privatisation for the interest of the nation. Central president of the Nepal Press Union Kul Chandra Wagle said industrialists and landlords should create an atmosphere of love and trust for the workers. Also speaking on the occasion were national president of the Nepal Financial Organisations Employees Association Amrit Mani Poudel and president of the Nepal Inter -Corporation Employees Association Shishir Kumar Jha.
