Cut "Useless" Holidays

Recently it was reported that the government has recommended cutting 12 holiday festivals, which the government employees have been enjoying for years. Personally I appreciate this laudable move. Perhaps, the Nepalese civil servants, especially those working in the Kathmandu Valley are the luckiest workers to enjoy 60 plus public holidays in a year. The frequent Valley and Nepal Bandhs have also become a form of holidays for Nepalese employees. And it is equally apparent that the Nepalese employees hardly spend such holidays involving in creative activities. They spend all the holidays either sitting for ‘marriage’ or sipping liquor. As such it will be better if the government also cut the Sunday off facility introduced some 18 months back in the Kathmandu Valley. In fact, genuine employees need no more useless holidays.
