Technical institutions regional meet ends Lalitpur, Jan. 20 (RSS): "A regional programme on developing an accredition for tet" jointly organised by the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) and the Colombo Plan Staff College for Technician Education (CPSC), Manila, Philippines concluded here recently. Representatives from technical education and training institutions in the Asia Pacific Region took part in the seminar that started on January 8. During the programme, participants held discussions on the production of competent technical manpower, the setting up of standards for institutions involved in training manpower and the id entification of the pre-requisites for such training. At the function held Friday at the conclusion of the programme, Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma said that it is the need of the day to set Standards for Ttechnical Education Institutions in order to enhance quality in training conducted by such institutions.
