Land acquired for Chilime hydel project

Syaphrubensi, Jan. 30 (RSS): About 725 Ropanis of land has been acquired for the 20-megawatt Chilime hydropower project which is under construction in Rasuwa District by using indigenous resources and technical manpower.

According to the administrative officer of the project Kedar Prasad Dhital, although all construction works have been carried out underground, the land has been acquired to construct various structures needed for office building and staff quarters.

The public land has been acquired as per HMG’s rule and other private land as per the land acquisition act.

The compensation fixation committee has so far provided Rs. 6.3 million as compensation to the land owners.

Meanwhile, the project has completed repair works on the 26-km long Pasanglhamu road that links Dhunche with Goljung.

The project carried out the repair work on the road with its equipment after the road had given way at different points during the rainy season last year, disrupting vehicle traffic, engineer at the project Milap Bahadur Pandey said.

Expenses incurred for the repair work was around Rs. 1 million, it is learnt.

Bulldozer and trucks are being mobilised to carry out repair work on the portion of Dhunche-Mulkharka-Grang road which had witnessed damages last year.
