Rabi Bhakta heads new FNCCI committee BY A STAFF REPORTER Kathmandu, July 19: A new executive committee of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries has been formed under the leadership of Ravi Bhakta Shrestha. The new committee was formed in the two-day long 35th Annual General Meeting that concluded Wednesday evening. In the 62-member executive committee, 58 have been elected in the annual general meeting, with some of them unopposed. The new president reserves the right to nominate four members. Likewise, the first, second, third and officio vice presidents of the committee are yet to be nominated from the newly elected members of the FNCCI. According to the FNCCI sources, those elected unopposed from the zones are Chandiraj Dhakal, (Mechi), Deewakar Golchha (Koshi), Keshav Udas (Sagarmatha), Binod Bahadur Shrestha (Bagmati), Rajendra Kumar Khetan (Narayani), Basant Shrestha (Gandaki), Sudarshan Shrestha (Dhawaligiri), Omprakash Banshal (Lumbini), and Madhav Prasad Bhatta (Mahakali). Likewise, the polls held Thursday elected Kushkumar Joshi (Karnali), Dharmraj Shresta (Rapti), Kumudkumar Dugar (Bheri), Gopal Hamal (Seti) and D. B. Basnet (Janakpur). For the membership of the eight representatives from the commodity associations, A. G. Sherpa, Indra Bahadur Shakya, Kiran Prakash Sakha, Pradip Jung Pandey, Bhashkar Raj Rajkarnikar, Ramesh Sharma, Rohini Thapaliya and Dinesh Shrestha have won the elections. All 15 members from the associates sector have been elected unopposed. They are Atmaram Murarka, Kishor Khanal, Jagdish Rathi, Jayprakash Agrawal, Narendra Kumar Basnet, B. K. Shrestha, Bijay Bahadur Shrestha, Binod Kumar Chainwala, Bimal Kedia, Rabindra Shrestha, Ramchandra Sanghai, Sashikanta Agrawal, Suraj Vaidya, Laxmi Bahadur Shrestha and Sidheswor Kumar Singh. Dr. Gopal Shrestha, Krishna Prasad Tamrakar, Chandrakrishna Karmacharya, Ajad Shrestha, Dhruba Kumar Shrestha, Ram Prasad Shrestha, Achyut Prasad Prasai, Lokbikram Thapa, Gyanendra Kasaju, Tirak K. C., Pradip Man Vaidhya, Kirshore Pradhan and Shailendralal Pradhan were declared elected as the members from the town and district level chambers of commerce and industries. Rajendra Bantawa, Chopnarayan Shrestha, and Mahendra Krishna Shrestha have been elected unopposed from the sectors of tourism, transport entrepreneurs and bi-national chambers respectively. Taking over the charge of the presidency of the FNCCI from his predecessor Pradeep Kumar Shrestha Wednesday evening, newly elected president Ravi Bhakta Shrestha expressed his commitment to give continuity to the FNCCIs efforts towards promotion and protection of business community. Established on Poush 14, 2022 BS, and registered on Chaitra 28, 2025 BS, the FNCCI now comprises a total of 547 members, 85 district and municipality level chambers of commerce and industries, 50 commodity/sectoral associations, 9 bi-national chambers of commerce and industries, and more than 400 associate members.
