Badu gives away medals, certificates Kathmandu, July 19 (RSS): Minister of State for Education and Sports Dilendra Badu gave away the trophy, medals and certificates to the winners of the open swimming competition organised by the Nepal Swimming Association at a function held at the Birendra International Sports Complex, Lalitpur Wednesday. The swimming competition sponsored by the General Food Industry was participated in by students from 22 schools of Kathmandu valley. Little Angels School, L. R. School and Baba Boarding School were declared first, second and third respectively in the swimming competition. Speaking on the occasion Minister of State Badu said that preparations are underway for the 9th SAF games to be held in Pakistan. Mr Badu expressed the view that the Nepalese sportsmen should play with the hope of winning medals in the Olympics. General secretary of the Nepal Swimming Association Ashok Bajracharya said that swimmers winning in the age group swimming competition will be participating in the Asian age group swimming competition to be held in Hong Kong. Mr Bajracharya said that winners of the open swimming competition will be placed in the first phase training programme of the 9th SAF Games. Other Story |
