BY A STAFF REPORTER Kathmandu, July 26: The selection of athletes for the upcoming 9th South Asian Federation Games continued for second day also today at the national Dashrath Stadium. In the mens event, Ram Krishna Chaudhary of Nepal police completed 100 meter dash in 10:83 second to grab the first position and Tribhuwan Clubs devi Bahadur Basnet became second with 11: 20 second timing while his teammate Khem Bahadur Khatri stood third with 11:25 seconds time. Likewise in the mens 200 meter Nepal Polices Lila Shrestha topped others with 22:40 seconds which Nepal Armys Khem Bahadur Khatri became second with22:40 seconds time and Central regionsArun Shrestha got the third slot with 23:33 seconds. Armys Rajendra Bhandari , teammate Hut Bahadur Chhetri and Polices Yam Narayan Shrestha came out first, second and third in the mens 1500 meter. In javeling throw, Polices Khurshid Ahmed Khan was first and Armys Dhrendra Jung Shah was second and Polices Narendra Jung Shah was third. In womens 200 meter, Polices Bina Shrestha and teammate Chandra Kala Thapa were first and second respectively while Sabitri Nepali of central region was third. All of these players have been selected for the first phase of training camps. These players will again be tested in second round of selection process before they are finally selected for the 9th SAF Games to be held in Islamabad, Pakistan. |
