Training programme organised

Kathmandu, July 29 (RSS): The six-day trainers’ training programme for the employees of various government and non-governmental organisations involved in improved stove expansion programme organised by the Rural Technology Centre, Tripureswore with the cooperation of Asia Regional Cookstove programme concluded here.

The training programme was participated in by 18 persons of government and non-governmental organisations.

During the training programme, the trainees were familarised with the improved stove expansion policy, its social and economical aspects, the methods of determining the capacity of the improved stoves, gender evaluation of people using such stoves, management of the kitchen social mobilisation, operation and maintenance of improved stoves, air pollution within the house and its effect on health, etc.

Speaking at the concluding session, Mayor of Dhulikhel Municipality Bel Prasad Shrestha said that the expansion of the use of such stoves would help to protect forest resources and have a positive impact on the health of the women.

Executive director of Rucodes/Kavre haribhakta Khoju, executive director of Rural Technology Centre Ganeshram Shrestha and managing advisor of Rural Technology Centre Nandaram Vaidya threw light on the importance of improved cooking stoves.
