RDB Parasi recovers 96% loan

Parasi, June 10: "As the bank is service-oriented rather than profit-oriented, it has been serving the poor and backward people of the district," he said.

The Nawalparasi branch of the bank has provided its service to 9,660 members of 1,932 groups. Bank sources say that around 50,000 people are directly benefiting from the bank.

The bank, which provides loans only to women, collects five per cent of the total loan in the group fund. The group fund has now collected Rs. 14.6 million, which will ultimately be given to the groups.

According to the bank, it has also started a new loan programme now under the third livestock development programme. Under this scheme, loans of up to Rs. 30,000 is provided to interested people for livestock farming at the recommendation of the District Veterinary Office.

The branch has 48 employees and 228 cash collection points in the district.
