FNCCI to go to networking

Kathmandu, Mar 23: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) is to establish computer-networking system in all development regions so as to bolster business and economic activities in the country.

First Vice President of FNCCI Ravi Bhakta Shrestha disclosed this at a meeting with the business leaders from Palpa, an FNCCI press release stated.

Ravi Bhakta Shrestha reiterated that the networking would help identify the areas of investment and help provide information regarding economic development.

Shrestha while talking to business leaders from Palpa said that the federation would introduce several programmes to accelerate economic activities in the country. As the nation is passing through a period of uncertainty, the business community and industrialists should be united to overcome the challenges.

On the occasion third vice president of the FNCCI Binod Bahadur Shrestha noted that the economic development of the country is almost impossible unless the chambers of commerce and industries in the districts are active in seeing that economic activities are taking place as per the need. He also informed that the FNCCI, as an apex body of the business community, is going to promote activities like income generation programme, human resource development and others.

On the basis of the evaluation, the FNCCI is to focus its different programmes in different districts, said Shrestha. He also appealed to the business leaders to extend their support to make the federation’s programme a success.

Suraj Vaidya, chairman of Agro Enterprises Centre asked the businessmen to provide necessary information for the commercialisation of agriculture in the country.

Pashupati Bhattarai, leader of the business delegation from Palpa, said that exchange of opinions among business people would help promote business activities in the country. Chakor Man Shakya, former president of the Palpa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, appreciated the role played by the federation in promoting business activities in the country.

The business delegation demanded the federation to initiate the process of waiving VAT and other local taxes including octroi on copper plates. Megh Nath Neupane of the federation also spoke on the occasion.

Meanwhile, chairman of Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) Rajesh Kazi Shrestha met Joon Woo Han, director general of trade sector at Korean Embassy in New Delhi recently. During the meeting, Shrestha exhanged views with Han regarding the promotion of trade with Korea.

Similarly, NCC organised a function in honour of Minister of State for Industry, Commerce and Supply Krishna Prasad Sitaula recently. NCC chief Shrestha apprised him of the different activities of NCC on the occasion.
