HM confers medals, decorations

Kathmandu, Mar. 30 (RSS):  His Majesty King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev conferred the orders, decorations and medals awarded to various persons on the occasion of His Majesty’s 56th Auspicious Birthday at an investiture ceremony held at the Narayanhity Royal Palace today.

His Majesty the King conferred the Om Rampatta on Bada Guruju Keshari Raj Pandey, Subikhyat Trishakti Patta on chief secretary of the Royal Palace Service Dhanamani Acharya, Prasiddha Prabala Gorakha Dakshina Bahu on nine persons, Bikhyat Trishakti Patta on seven persons, Suprabala Gorakha Dakshina Bahu on 55 persons, Prakhyat Trishakti Patta on 15 persons, Prabala Gorakha Dakshina Bahu on 187 persons, Trishakti Patta on two persons, Gorakha Dakshina Bahu on 34 persons and honorary titles on two persons.

His Majesty also conferred the Prasiddha Prabala Gorakha Dakshina Bahu on member of the Japanese Diet Sigeko Vieno, and Suprabala Gorakha Dakshina Bahu on the Mayor of France, an Austrian Archaeologist and the Thai professor.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Dipendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev was also present on the occasion.

Among others present were Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.
