Where’s The Basement Parking Lot?
About three years back it was heard that
Kathmandu Metropolitian City (KMC) was planning to widen some roads, build several
overhead bridges and construct an underground parking somewhere in Tundikhel. It seems KMC
somehow fulfilled its commitment of constructing six overhead bridges and widening the
road to the east of Tundikhel. But the then proposed underground parking is nowhere in
sight till date. But one thing is certain that the vehicles owners are now greatly feeling
the pinch of the lack of adequate parking space in the capital. How long will the KMC
allow the haph azard parking of vehicles along busy streets like New Road and
Khichapokhari?
