A Word Of Apology With regard to my article titled Searching "A Place For Gurkhas" published in your reputed daily newspaper on April 24, 2001, I would like to inform you and all of the readers that 6th and 7th paragraphs (about the bravery of Gaje Ghaley and New Education System Plan) of the article was basically extracted from the research paper prepared by Mr. Pratyoush Onta, which was published as an article in the title Ambivalence Denied: The Making of Rastriya Itihas in Panchayat Era Textbook in the journal Contributions to Nepalese Studies, vol. 23, no. 1 (January 1996), 213-254. Unfortunately, I missed to disclose the source in my article. I am solely responsible for the mistake and feel sorry about it. Facts analysed by Mr. Onta were so relevant to my article that I didnt hesitate to compile those facts in the segments of my article (without mentioning the source). I appologise for not following the press norm. Being his student, I will be always inspired by him in future. Pawan K. Sen Other Story |
