Social service building built in Koteshwar

Kathmandu, May 19 (RSS): Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Keshav Sthapit inaugurated the social service building constructed at Ward No. 35, Koteshwar, and also unveiled a statue at the Koti Vinayak Temple on the precincts of the social service building today.

The building was constructed at the total cost of approximately Rs 543,000 on one ana land provided free of cost by local social workers the late Ishwari Prasad Dhakal and Prakash Shrestha at the initiatives of the Himchuli Youth Club and the Koteshwar-Mahadevsthan Marg Users' Committee.

The Users' Committee had provided Rs 155,000 and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Rs 150,000 for construction of the building while the remaining cost was borne from local voluntary donation.

The social welfare building has three rooms, one toilet and a water tank of 15,000 litres capacity. One of the room has been assigned for the mourner for the special purpose of conducting the post-funeral services.

At the inaugural function, Mayor Sthapit said the KMC was actively engaged in development and construction works of the city.

He said it would not take long to develop the nation if all the political parties and citizens worked collectively in the development constructon works.

Treasurer of the committee Bishnu Bahadur Basnet presented the statement of income and expenditure in the construction of the building at the programme presided over by Koteshwar-Mahadevsthan Road Users' Commmittee president Bharat Prasad Parajuli.

President of the building construction committee Pralhad Deuja and Kapil Dev Pokharel also expressed their views on the occasion.
