Offensive Maoists now on defensive, says Paudel

Damauli (Tanahun), Nov.2 (RSS): Nepali Congress leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ram Chandra Paudel inaugurated a concrete bridge over Kalesti river connecting Damauli of Tanahun with Bhorletar of Lamjung today.

The bridge constructed with Rs. 28.737 million provided by His Majesty’s Government will benefit 300,000 people of Lamjung, Kaski and Tanahun districts.

Similarly, Mr Paudel also inaugurated a suspension bridge over the same river connecting Tanahun and Kyamin VDC of Vyash Municipality of Tanahun district. The bridge was built at a cost of Rs. 2.786 million.

On the occasion, Mr Paudel spoke of the need of national consensus for larger interests of the nation and the people by giving up insular political thinking.

Stating that the Maoist who triggered their guns indiscriminately yesterday have now stopped it and are on the defensive, the NC leader spoke of the need to make Nepal a terrorism-free place by exposing the real face of the Maoists who are against the country, democracy and political parties.

Assistant Minister for Physical Planning and Works Sabitri Bogati said national consensus is essential for peace and development.
