Nepal is beset with internal chaos it lacks good governance, law and order, and a good economy. The problem that is at hand is well understood and can easily be explained there is no need for a degree or Ph. D. to actually pin point the problems, that is, misplaced priorities. Lets analyse politics. Political parties are hell bent on fighting among themselves no reason except to pull legs, plunder and pilfer. There has been no gain in social and economic terms, political stability, and law and order. The misplaced priority on themselves and their party with narrow vision rather than on nation is the crux. In the name of democracy they have had free rein to do just the opposite of what they were entrusted with. The politics of convenience, horse trading, and nepotism is the rule rather than exception. Regarding the so-called human rights organisations they speak with blurred vision. They sit at the fence and lean to the left but have no qualms in being righteous. They view present situation with red tinted sunglasses and their judgement basically falls into partisan politics. Now, the Maoist issue. Maoists are ragtag soldiers prodded on by few idealists who have a sense of megalomania. Maoist has knack for exploiting the ones they seem to be fighting for the downtrodden and the desperados of hills. They are the ones sent to the firing line and are conveniently misled into killing. And lastly, the citizens of this country of whom I am one are content to watch and nit-pick as if we are not affected by the whole shenanigans and disarray. The tendency to view our work only from the hindsight has made us morally empty and weak. So let us learn to carry this weight of lawlessness, poor governance, and fracturing social order antithesis of civil society as clothes we wear, be it in tatters or a brand new. And when we look back in hindsight we can just blame it in our misplaced priorities. Munna |
