A Ray Of Hope For Peace

Finally, it seems that the days of turbulence in Nepal’s political scenario are over with the calm setting in and easing the lives of the people in general. The Maoists, who have recently held the third round of talks with the government, seem to have realised that violence is not the way to pull the country out of the present crisis. As everyone has felt, armed encounters can never pay because all those people on both sides of the warring factions who get killed are the citizens of this country. It is due to the vested interest of a few—not even a handful—that has triggered violent activities throughout the Kingdom for almost six years. But now that both the government and Maoists have shown their liberal attitude towards each other, a thin ray of hope has appeared on the horizon. The domestic scene is moving towards peace as news reports indicate. Dialogue for peaceful resolution of the problem is what is urgently needed at present, so the government should act towards this end.
