I would like to draw the attention of Nepali human rights organisations regarding recent events in Nepal. Whenever there is government intervention against the Maoist activities these so-called human rights activists accused the government of violating the human rights. Unfortunately none of these people have yet raised their finger against the Maoists who are openly killing people and security personnel, which is a stark violation of human rights. These people used to make loud noises saying the government is violating human rights by suppressing the Maoist rebels. Now why cant they ask the Maoists to stop all their inhumane and coward activities? So whenever innocent security personnel and public die they dont have human rights! When innocent people are being killed for nothing, there is no one to speak on behalf of them. I would like to ask the human rights activists: How do you define human rights? And what do you say to the present situation in Nepal? Sazak Basnet |
