Friend In Need Is Friend Indeed

September 11 will go down as a black day in the American history. Some family got body parts of their loved ones but many had nothing to bury except to hold a funeral with an empty box. As a global citizen we must be with the Americans in this difficult time. I am sad to see that some parties in Nepal are opposing the government’s move to provide United States with air space and refueling facilities. What they must understand is if terrorism spreads its wings, the so-called Panchaseel or co-existence philosophy won’t spare them. Terrorists don’t believe in co-existence and we don’t have that infrastructure to fight terrorism all alone. If terrorists believed in co-existence they would not have slaughtered innocent people working in Twin Towers. Those who oppose the government must understand that America is a friend who has been supporting us in all possible manner by providing economic as well as volunteer services and we must be with our friends in difficult times. However, all Nepalese do not oppose the government’s decision to help America in its fight against terrorism. Many Nepalese have sympathy for those families who lost their loved ones. I hope our government will shun such protest and be with American friends in their difficult time.
