BY A STAFF REPORTER Kathmandu, Oct.8: Exterior-Interiors Nepal (P) Ltd., inaugurated the first batch of its One-Year Diploma programme in interior designing at Kathmandu on October 7. Present in the ceremony were Prithu Charan Baidya, Dean, of the Faculty of Education of the Tribhuwan University, as chief guest and Prof. Dr. Jib Raj Pokhrel, Dean of the Institute of Engineering as the guest of honor. Exterior-Interiors National Diploma programme is conducted by the Architectural Consultancy Organisation in Asia/Pacific. The programme was incepted in 1986 in Calcutta, India, from where it spread to seven other cities of India and then to Dhaka in Bangladesh. It has a student base between 1500-2000 annually and is heavily supported by the various companies. According to Mrs. Ananta Rana, who is in-charge of the Kathmandu branch, the cost of the course is Rs. 44, 500 for one-time payment and Rs.50,000 for the payments in installments. Kallol Baroi, senior manager of the Exterior-Interior (P) Ltd., says after the completion of the programme the students can get direct placements in various US Universities on recommendation of the Programme Director. He also said the course is one of the most economical vocational technical training in the world which makes the students self sufficient in the field. |
