There is a growing tendency in Nepal to go abroad and settle there. Hardly anyone, including the government officials who visit foreign countries on some missions, returns home honestly. They make the escapes, one way or the other, for the sake of so-called better life in the future. Large crowd of people seen everyday at the post office reflects this craze for the greener pastures. They try their luck by sending entries for US Diversity Visas, which safely gives them passage to their desired land. If this kind of trend continues, the nation is likely to be empty of big brains that might be of great help in time of need here. Despite this, the Nepalese people always seem to have found greener pastures in the foreign lands than at home even if they land up with a job of lower status. Anjan Sharma Other Story |
