Nationwide Open Body Building on Oct 13-14 BY A STAFF REPORTER Kathmandu, Oct 10: The 8th Nationwide Open Body Building Tournament will take place October 13-14 and about 225 body builders will participate in it. Organiser of the Body BuildingTorunament, Nepal Byayam Mandir said that all the preparation for the organisation of the tournament has been completed. A press release issued by the organisers stated that the pre-judging round of the championship will be held on October 13 at the Sahanshah Hotel while the final rounds of competition will take place in the evening of October 14 at the Royal Nepal Academy. Ramesh Khanal, the first body building judge of the country, will head the members of judges appointed for the tournament. The person emerging best among five weight categories will receive Rs. 50,000 while the second will get Rs. 30,000 and third Rs. 20,000. Person coming to fourth position will be awarded with Rs. 10,000 and fifth will bag Rs. 8,000. Basnyat, Roe win Oktoberfest golf tourney BY A STAFF REPORTER Kathmandu, Oct. 10: Deep Basnyat of Royal Nepal Golf Club, Kathmandu and Jenny Roe of the Himalayan Golf Course, Pokhara, were the first-prize winners, respectively, of the Mens and Ladies Golf events organized on the occasion of the recent Fourth Annual Oktoberfest at The Fulbari Resort at Pokhara. A total of 36 participants joined the tourney and the prizes were awarded to the winners at a gala Dinner reception hosted by the Resorts Chairman, Amatya. The event was a great crowd-puller with about 200 onlookers also participating in the extravaganza. Kite-flying Bingo and Beer Drinking contests were the other attractions of the Festival. The well-known Rusty Nail Band was in full attendance and the event was compared by the Resorts Director, Sales and Marketing, Vijay Subba. A Raffle was also organized with Yamaha motorbike as the first prize, which went to Narayan Baniya. Other prizes included a Phillips CD System and Karcher Appliances, besides 18 other consolation items. Prizes were sponsored by San Miguel, Karcher, Phillips and Guinness Stout. |
