Discourage Films With Violence Seeing films in the cinema halls or at our own homes is the most common and popular means of entertainment. Films are made not only to entertain but to satirise different negative aspects of our society and teach us how to cope with and wipe them out. Films are sources of gaining moral and social education. But this is far from being the case these days. Many films, are serving as the source of violence, deceit, robbery and terrorism. They seem to glorify violence and crime and present criminals and murderers as courageous and intelligent characters. Watching such movies can prove very damaging to the immature minds of the childern who are easily influenced by the stuff on the screen. Equally negative can be the effect of the display of western type dresses and obscenity. Is it not a crime to glorify crime and harm immature minds? If it is, then the concerned authorities should not only ban such films but also encourage the filmmakers who produce worus that impart moral education to children. S. Maharjan |
