Separate unit to monitor hospitals, says Bhandari

Pokhara, Sept. 1 (RSS):Minister for Health Sharat Singh Bhandari has said that attempts are being made to set up a suitable unit in the ministry to monitor the hospitals across the kingdom.

Minister Bhandari was addressing the concluding function of the western regional review and planning seminar organised here by the Department of Health Services and the Regional Health Services Directorate.

Disclosing that the government is updating the health services act in a coordinated manner, the Health Minister said that the need for the health workers to reach out to the grassroots level with better services.

Speaking about opportunities for career development of employees in the health sector, he said that transfer of the employees would take place pursuant to relevant policy.

Director General of the Department of Health Services Dr. B. D. Chataut and Western Regional Health Services director Dr. Ashok Kumar Chaurasiya also expressed their views on the occasion.

Participating in the six-day seminar were 80 persons including officers of the ministry, department and directorate, and health office chiefs, public health officers and representatives of all sixteen districts of the western region.
