Monarchy symbol of national unity: Singh

Janakpurdham, Sept. 9 (RSS): President of the Nepal Sadbhawana Party Gajendra Narayan Singh has said that in a multi-lingual and multi-racial country like ours, the institution of Monarchy is the symbol of national unity.

Singh, who was talking to the press here today, noted that if the constitution amendment should be made at all, it should be done by the provision of the constitutional Monarchy and multi-party democracy intact.

Stating that the Maoists have vitiated the atmosphere through intimidation, the NSP chief accused the Maoists of trying to cause a chasm among the Terai people by forming the Madhishe Mukti Morcha.

The Maoists have been created as a bogey and they can’t really do anything if the government provides security to the people who are now ready to fight against them, he said and accused the Maoists of trying to disrupt the environment for talks through intimidation and extortion.

Noting that the land ceiling is not in favor of farmers, Mr Singh claimed that the poor people will be more benefited if the ceiling is imposed on property.
