Grandmaster Kanajawa returns

Kathmandu, Sept. 9: President of International Federation of Shotokan Karatedo and chief coach Grandmaster Hirokaju Kanajawa completed his weeklong visit of Nepal and returned home today.

During his stay in Nepal, Kanajawa met with Nepal Olympic Committee President Rukma shumsher Rana National Sports Council Member Secretary Binod Shankar Palikhe and other sports related officials and talked about the ways to promote karate in Nepal.

Earlier on Saturday, the blackbelt ten don Kanajawa was honoured at a programme in Lalitpur by Lalitpur Mayor Buddhi Raj Bajracharya at Akscheswor Monastery. Kanajawa also coached shotokan players of Lincoln School in Kathmandu the same day. " Nepalese players have good physic and what they need is continuous exercise and practices of the game,"said Kanajwa who was also impressed by the beauty of the country. The farewell dinner was hosted in honour of the visiting guest yesterday.

SKIF’s chief coach Niwas Gopal Baidhya senior coach Dilendra Gopal Baidhya and Om Shrestah said that the visit of Kanajawa and William Wang was very fruitful. We are encouraged by his visit to our country," said chief coach Niwagopal at the Tribhuwan Internation Airport.
