BY A STAFF REPORTER Kathmandu, Sept 13: The Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) has expressed deep sorrow on the terrorist attacks in the United States and the loss of life and properties. In a statement the FNCCI has said that it and the whole business community of the country would express heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the American people and the government. The FNCCI has also said any kind of terrorist attack is against human and democratic values and, thus, it wholeheartedly condemns the attacks the attack. Similarly, the Nepal Chamber of Commerce has said that the attack on the twin towers of the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon leaving thousands of people dead and many more injured has deeply shocked and stunned. In a statement, NCC has said that the whole world has been pained by the barbarous and dastardly attacks and that it condemns the attacks in the harshest term possible. The NCC has also said that it expresses its deepest condolences to the American people and the government. Likewise, Human Rights Organization of Nepal (HURON) has also expressed deep remorse, shock on the tragic attack in New York and Washington. In a statement today it said any kind of terrorist attacks must be abolished from the whole world and every citizen of the world must have the right to lead and live peaceful life. It has also expressed heartfelt condolences to the American people and the government. The attacks in New York and Washington have also been condemned by HURPES (Human Rights and Peace Society). The Societys Central Working Committee in a statement today has said that the world can resolve any differences through peaceful means. Any kind of terrorist attack, whether it is in the US or in any part of the world, is condemnable. It has also expressed deep condolence and sympathy on the American people and the government, it said. Nepal Association of Tour Operators (NATO) has also strongly condemned this cowardice act of violence and labelled it as a crime against humanity. In a statement it expressed belief that the United States will definitely cope up with the terrorist who committed these acts and those who harbour it. It also extends heartfelt condolences to all bereaved families who have lost their kith and kin in the tragic incidents. Similarly Nepal Association of Travel Agent (NATA) has also strongly condemned the attack. Calling it as a heinous crime never before witnessed by the world. It has also expressed its deep condolence and profound sympathies to the American government and people. Qatar Airways honours its top sales agents BY A STAFF REPORTER Kathmandu: Qatar Airways honoured its the top sales agents in Nepal for their outstanding sales performance at a function held in Kathmandu Wednesday. The top travel agents honoured by the airlines for the year 2000/2001 were Rainbow Travels and Tours (P) Ltd., Jaya Travels & Tours Pvt. Ltd. Yeti Travels Pvt. Ltd., Dynamic Services (P) Ltd., Himalayan Travels & Tours (Pvt. Ltd., Gandaki Tours and Travels (P) Ltd. Sitara Travels (P.) Ltd., Gulf Travels and Tours Pvt. Ltd., Dynamic Travels and Tours, and Broadway Travels (P) Ltd. The cargo agents honoured at the function were Himalayan Travels & Tours (P) Ltd., Shangri-La Freight (P) Ltd., Legend Cargo (P) Ltd., World Freight Intl (P) Ltd., Everest de Cargo (P) Ltd., Namaste Cargo Pvt. Ltd. Air Link Nepal Pvt. Ltd., Mt. Pumori Air Cargo (P) Ltd., Ganesh Air Cargo and Sky Net Worldwide Express. According to a press release of the airlines, at the annual function called as Evening of Stars, Arjun K. Gang, Regional Manager of Qatar Airways in his welcome address said that Qatar Airways considers its appointed agents as its partners in the endeavour to provide air services of the highest standard to passengers and cargo exports from Nepal. He also said by working together they would be able to improve their sales performances in the current fiscal year. The function was attended by Mohd. Saleh Fakhri, Qatar Airways Manager-passenger sales systems worldwide, who had flown in from Doha to attend the function. Others, who also were present at the function included people from travel and tourism industry. |
