BY A STAFF REPORTER Kathmandu, Sept. 14: The Nepal Council of World Affairs has said that it has been anguished by the loss of life and property caused by the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York and Pentagon in Washington. In a press statement the Council has said that acts of terrorism anywhere in the world are attacks on the freedom and liberty of human beings. The Council has also hoped that those responsible for these dastardly crimes will be made to face the consequences of their unforgivable sins. Saying that Nepal itself is in the grip of senseless violence, terrorism has emerged as a curse of mankind in recent times. Its tentacles go beyond national boundaries, and a global campaign needs to be launched to counter the spread of terrorism in the world, it said. The Council has also said the Council joins the American people in mourning for the dead, and pray for the eternal peace of the departed souls. Similarly, the Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) has also strongly condemned the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon. Calling these attacks as cowardice and a crime against humanity. In a press release, HAN said that all kinds of terrorist activities should be abolished from the world and for this all the countries of the world should join hands. |
