Gratitude From USA

I am writing this letter of gratitude to the people of Nepal. I just heard a report on the news that Nepal was offering help to the people of America, in our time of need. I have been fortunate enough to visit Nepal, twice in the last year. I have a special love for the people of Nepal and for the country. I ended my last visit to Nepal, less than one week before the Royal tragedy. I felt pain and anguish for my friends in Nepal. That was one of the greatest tragedies that could have befallen your great country. I witnessed the love Nepalese people had for their Royal Family. Both of our countries have had to endure great tragedies in the past few months. The loss we suffered in America has taken a great toll on our people. The security we once felt at home has been shattered forever. The lives of so many people lost forever. The suffering of their families, and our nation, will linger on for many lifetimes. My nightmares are only starting, as I have two children in the United States Navy. Those responsible for the vicious attacks on the innocent deserve to pay for their crimes. Those murdered weren’t American military personnel. They were innocent people, mothers, fathers, and children. The attack on the World Trade Centre, was an attack on the peoples of the world. Many of those killed were citizens of other nations. Those who planned and carried out these vicious attacks were totally aware that innocent people from many nations would die. Ever since my first visit to Nepal, I prayed that the day would come, when Nepal and the United States, would join hands in a closer relationship. It is in times like these, one finds out who their true friends are. While some nations that pledged support to the United States have begun to turn their backs on us, your great nation has extended your hand in friendship and support. I have received phone calls and e-mail from my Nepalese brothers and sisters, concerned for the well-being of myself and my family. Thanks for such a great outpouring of love, from the wonderful people of Nepal. My dream is to return to Nepal and open an institute for the study and collection of Nepal’s folklore and traditional healing to help retain your cultural heritage for future generations to learn about and enjoy.
