A Ray Of Hope For Better Times After living under the threat of terror for a long time, we finally have been able to heave a sigh of relief, thanks to the state of emergency that got approval in the parliament. For this the opposition parties deserve pat on their back, for without their support the government would have found it very difficult to cope with the situation. This also shows that all the political parties regardless of their ideological differences walk hand in hand in when it comes to resolving a national crisis. In the name of peoples war, the underground Maoists were carrying out their violent activities, coercing and intimidating the common people. The six-year long cycle of violence has adversely affected the development efforts of the country, which is one of the least developed nations in the world. Peace is the prerequisite for development anywhere. So this time, we can expect changes for better. But the concerned individuals and organisations need to be honest while performing their respective responsibilities. They should make it sure that their anti-terrorist acts do not affect the normalcy of common life. Shankar Pandey |
