More industries registration cancelled in Dhankuta

Heele (RSS): Of the total 1,789 cottage and small industries registered with the Cottage and Small Industries Development Committee, Dhankuta since the fiscal year 2048/49, the registration of 1,092 have been cancelled as they have failed to renew their registration.

At present only 697 cottage and small scale industries are operating in Dhankuta district.

Chief of the Cottage and Small Industries Development Committee Hem Kumar Rai says that even though the persons completing the skill-oriented training programme organised by the committee have been opening industries by taking loans from the bank with the guarantee of the Cottage and Small Industries Development Committee, the industries have been closing down due to lack of market for their products.

More than 2,000 people have been provided skill-oriented training by the Cottage and Small Industries Development Committee but only a few of the trainees have been running industries regularly while others have only been registering their industries and taking loans from the banks.

Even though cottage and small industries have not been flourishing in the district, 54 new industries have been registered under the current fiscal year.

The Agricultural Development Bank has provided loans amounting to Rs 2,043,000 to 403 people without any collateral for opening industries on the recommendation of the Cottage and Small Industries Development Committee.
