National basketball tourney in May By A Staff Reporter Kathmandu, Apr. 8: The capital will host third men's national basketball and the second women's national tournament in the first week of May. The two-week tournaments are aiming to lure teams from outside the Kathmandu Valley. The teams reaching quarterfinals and semifinals will receive Rs. 1000 per match as encouragement. Only 16 best teams of Nepal can play in men's tournament. The national team will be selected after the tournament for the upcoming SAARC Basketball championship to be held in Dhaka in September, Nepal Basketball Association said. |
