Of What Use Bandhs

It is fear and not the sympathy that has made each general strike partially a success. If people support anything, that is only peace, prosperity and development. Perhaps there is no one who supports brutal killings and the destruction of public property. How can anyone support the Maoists’ call for bandh when they have worsened people’s lives? They have destroyed powerhouses and cut off telephone lines that people had received after decades of waiting. With their bloody campaigns the Maoists are digging their own graveyards, because no revolution can be successful without public support. People are forced to live a terrific life due to the madness of the Maoists. Perhaps we all are silently realising the fact – Tis folly to be wise where ignorance is bliss.
