Problems Of Domestic Violence Being Addressed

Domestic violence against women is getting highlighted over the past ten years in Nepal. Many women who had been tolerating domestic violence have received justice through various organisations. At present, there are many organisations, national as well as international, working against domestic violence. International organisations have included the issue of domestic violence in their work plan. United Nations Women Development fund has been working domestic violence through various organisations as its intermediaries. As a result of their efforts, the world has now recognised 25th November as International Violence Against Women Day, Various programmes on domestic violence its establishment . The Ministry of Women and Social Welfare has formed a Central Women Legal Support Committee for consultations and for providing justice to the victims.

In such a hopeful situation, the civil society and the concerned individuals too should not shy away form putting efforts in whatever way they can for completely uprooting the social evil of violence against women who cover half of the sky.
