Gaijatra Must Be Regulated

Gaijatra, the festival of fun and humour, has just begun. The primary objective of observing this tradition is to lessen the pain of all those who have lost their family members and relatives through of various activities of humour including poking fun at the social evils and discrepancies. But it seems that the trend of observing this occasion has somehow gone on a wrong track. Aberrations have surfaced in the name of celebrating this festival. People are bent more on displaying pornography than on the actual celebration. This might leave a negative impact on the immature minds of the young. On the other hand, the so-called humourists have started using this occasion as a means to amass money through cheap and stale performances. Many such programmes are being organised to mark the weeklong festival. But unfortunately, people have lost interests in such activities. Therefore, it is extremely necessary that the concern individuals and organizations should do something to regulate the celebration of this blithe festival
