FNCCI forwards plan of economic diplomacy

KATHMANDU: The federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and industry (FNCCI) has forwarded a plan to move ahead economic diplomacy to make itself active in the development of economic development by maintaining economic relations in the international sector and to invite foreign investment and technology.

This will help promote Nepal's trade, investment, and tourism, said participants of a discussion yesterday.

The interaction was participated in by FNCCI committee presidents, co-presidents, members, officials of bi-national chambers and experts of economic diplomacy.

In the first phase of economic diplomacy, the FNCCI has appointed honorary consulars in countries with Nepal's economic relations including in China and Japan and plans to appoint in Qatar, Russia and USA.


Industrial fair in Butwal

KATHMANDU: A industrial fair- 2059 is to be held in Butwal from December 26 -January 5.
it will be a major event in the country said NCC golden jubilee function committee president Rajesh Kaji Shrestha.

Altogether 200 stalls will be put for various goods of seven different countries. More than 200,000 consumers from bordering Indian town of Gorakhpur and other towns will be attracted at the fair.

The fair will help in the strengthening of national economy, said Butwal chamber president Kush Prasad Malli. the fair is organised in connection with observing the golden jubilee of NCC this year, it was informed at a press meet yesterday.


Cooperative team leaves

KATHMANDU: A 36-member team of Nepali cooperatives led by president of the National Cooperatives Association left for New Delhi, India on a leadership development and exposure visit programme for study in cooperatives, to boost relations and study various activities and to develop professional and managerial skills. A training will be run by the Indian National Cooperatives Association and Indian farmers Fertiliser Cooperative IFCO from December 1- 8.

The training will run at Gurgaon and the team will also view the biggest fertiliser factory of India IFCO Abala Fertiliser Plant, Dairy Cooperatives in Lucknow, UP, government land development bank and other cooperatives.


Orange production Tanahu

damauli: The district agriculture development office, Tanahun expects that the total production of oranges this year will exceed Rs.40 million in value.

Tanahu is said to have the most favourable and fertile land for orange cultivation.

Orange production this year is expected to go up due to favourable rain and absence of hailstorms and insects unlike in past years.
