Crown Prince to inaugurate Butwal fair

KATHMANDU, Dec. 25: His Royal Highness Crown Prince Paras Bir Bikram Shah Dev is to scheduled to inaugurate an industrial and trade fair amid a function at Butwal tomorrow to mark the golden jubilee festival of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and the beginning of the golden jubilee year of Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

On the occasion, a letter of felicitations will be presented to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince on behalf of all the industrialists and businessmen. In a message to mark the occasion, Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand has expressed happiness at the industrial and trade fair being inaugurated by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and wished every success to the fair.

He has stated that the role of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and the Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry is significant in the industrial and commercial field of Nepal. Stating that the pace of development in the country could not accelerate without the development of industry and commerce, Prime Minister Chand expressed confidence that the inauguration of the trade fair by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince will provide additional inspiration to all those in this sector to work with greater vigour.

In his message on the occasion, Nepal Chamber of Commerce president Rajesh Kaji Shrestha has stated that the role of trade fairs is vital for export promotion. President of Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kush Prasad Malli, in his message, stated that the fair would help encourage the use of domestic products and identify new exportable items. This is the fourth industrial fair being hosted annually by Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The fair to be held until January 5 will have 237 stalls of domestic and foreign products and services. More than 200,000 persons are expected to visit the fair at which various entertainment programmes will also be staged by various national level troupes.
