Give Them Hero’s Welcome

It is a matter of pride and happiness that the Nepal has entered the final of the ongoing Under 19 Cricket Champinionship in New Zealand. The Nepaese youths should really be praised for their unfailing struggle to earn the country name and fame in the world of cricket. Their performance had been very much impressive, which gives rise to a bright hope that we will be able to clinch the trophy.

When they come back home, they should be accorded a hero’s welcome. And for this the sports officials need to make preparations. Going by the past experiences, however, one cannot expect much from the authority because this is not the first time the Nepanlese players have achieved rare historic win, but none of the winners have been honoured in the real sense. Welcoming the winners with a bunch of flowers followed by high sounding speeches and many promises is not sufficient. If the authority really wants improvement in Nepal’s sports, they should do something to encourage such talents by constructing more sports infrastructure and creating congenial atmosphere for promotion of this sector.
